More Goldspotted Oak Borer

Here’s a few more taken for the Center for Invasive Species Research, www.cisr.ucr.edu I had to use the dreaded Helicon Focus program to get the depth of field I needed. After some practice, I think they turned out pretty good seeing it’s my first time.

Gonatocerus ashmeadi

Gonatocerus ashmeadi is one of the many parasitic wasps used in the biocontrol of GWSS. These guys were super small and wouldn’t hold still. I really gotta grow a third hand to use the CO2! Taken for the Center for Invasive Species Research, Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter page www.cisr.ucr.edu

The Goldspotted Oak Borer

Here are some pictures of the Goldspotted Oak Borer. It’s an insect that’s invading California’s natural Oak trees. These pictures are from a field trip from the California Department of Forestry to help local researchers learn more about the pest. You can learn more about the Goldspotted Oak Borer here: CISR: Goldspotted Oak Borer
