Although, I was a little surprised on the variety of people living there. I mean no disrespect, but they seem a little odd. Really, they are very different from anywhere else I&#8217;ve visited. It&#8217;s hard to explain really. They seem very artsy and green of course. They also seem very liberal thinking &#8211; friendly in many ways but independent at the same time. There were tons of homeless people all over. Maybe more so than other big cities. I wonder if that has anything to do with with generous social services? In any case, there was just something :&#8221;about Portland that fell near and dear to my heart.
